Tatami Mattress from Danish Karup

Description

A Tatami mattress is based on a traditional Japanese Tatami mat made of rice straw. The tatami mattress is filled with tightly compressed rice straw. The edges of the Tatami mattress are sewn with black cotton.

The tatami mattress is 5.5 cm thick and is available in these sizes:

• 70 x 200 x 5 cm
• 80 x 200 x 5 cm
• 90 x 200 x 5 cm
• 100 x 200 x 5 cm
• 90 x 180 x 5 cm

A tatami mattress is intended as a base for, for example, a futon mattress, which in Japan is traditionally laid directly on the tatami mat. A Tatami mattress is very firm and is only suitable to lie on directly for those who want to sleep on a very firm bed. When used with a futon mattress on top you can decide how firm of a mattress you want and then get a stable base for the futon mattress with a Tatami mattress.
